I just got off the phone with AG customer service with a Joette(sp?) and she said they would NEVER,EVER ship a dolls head back to you!!!!! I told her I know that several people have gotten their original doll heads back with their doll and she said NEVER, WE DO NOT EVER GIVE A DOLL'S HEAD BACK OR ANY BODY PARTS!!!!
After arguing with her on this, she put me on hold, came back and said she has worked there nine years and she spoke with a supervisor and never under any circumstances will they give you your old doll head back, she said. She told me I may want to check with my sources who have told me this because they have never sent a doll head back with the doll before, IT MUST BE ATTACHED TO A BODY she said.
Now I know I have heard before that many of you have gotten your heads back, so please help me out here. And I will try to call back later to a dif person.

I would try calling back later- but it seems ridiculous that they wouldn't send it back. You paid for it (when you bought the doll) and you are paying for the new head. Both belong to you.

I actually had them return a Lindsey head to me.
When I had the head replaced, I just attached a note, with a rubberband around her torso, asking that they please return the head. It had black spots on it, that wouldn't come off, so she needed a new head. Months later I learned about the oxy10 treatment. They are almost gone, but there is still a faint spot on the cheek.
They did write my repair number on the back of the neck piece that goes inside the fabric torso. It's written in black marker. They probably did this so the head couldn't be attached to another body, and sent back to the hospital for a replacement. Long story short....they did return the head.

I was told this as well when I wanted to send my Addy in. I wanted to keep her old head and just use the wig off of the new head so they would need to send both heads back. They told me this was not possible, so I just sent her body in (saved on shipping). That way there was no risk that the head wouldn't come back and it all worked out perfect. Just make sure you write a note as to which head you are replacing so they know who to put on there .

If that's the case, then maybe you could call CS and tell them to just send your original doll back--then, remove the head, and send in the body with a note that you want Sam's head put on it.
I don't know if they'll go for that, but there must have been some cases when a doll's head was actually lost, and they would have had to replace a head without having an "old one" to remove first.

When sending in just the body saying you'll need such and such head is there anyway that they can tell if the head you request is the right one?

Those who have taken apart the dolls to resting, is there something in there to tell what doll it is?

If not do we really know who we are buying on ebay?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Sometimes. I opened a bitty baby and it DID have a paper tag inside telling exactly which one it was. Also one of my newest AGs did as well. (AGT21) The other 6 though, do not.
